Body and face soaps contain not less than 60% of our organic extra virgin olive oil ( 100% of extra virgin olive oil for our Extra virgin Olive Oil soap) produced by L’Olea
In addition to extra virgin olive oil, our soaps contain: coconut oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, wheat germ oil, castor oil, vegetable stearin.
The extra virgin olive oil has innumerable beneficial properties that make it the most suitable among all oils used for cosmetic use. In fact, it has a special "unsaponifiable" component that does not deteriorate in contact with the alkaline substance necessary for saponification. It is the oil that most of all is able to cure and protect the skin, while promoting its natural breathing and hydration It is also particularly suitable for sensitive skin and allergies. All our natural ingredients as well as our laboratory have an Organic Cosmetics - Certificate issued by Biocosmesi Organismo di Controllo Suolo e Salute - to guaratee the final consumer. All L’Olea products meet cleansing and nourishing requirements without the use of petrochemical-derived substances, without the use of synthetic components, or GMOs, or palm and palm kernel oil, or perfumes or preservatives, which are normally found in conventional products.
The greatest advantage for the customer is the possibility to choose to nourish the skin in a healthy and environmentally conscious way.
The perfume of the soaps is obtained exclusively from essential oils: substances extracted from aromatic plants, the natural alternative to synthetic fragrances. The main ones are lavender and rosemary. Essential oils of ylang ylang, cinnamon, mandarin, chamomile, cedar, eucalyptus, geranium, cloves, fennel and mint are also present.
Coloring is completely natural, given by cinnamon powder, mallow and lime blossom extracts, turmeric, dried ground rose petals; lavender flowers.
Our products are not tested on animals and all our ingredients of natural and organic origins. (The “Green Bio Cosmetic” certification is the quality standard which identifies natural cosmetic products coming with organic origins only)
Our soaps are made with “Cold Saponification Process” which requires less waste of energy compared to other saponification processes and is therefore more environmental friendly. Saponification takes place using the heat naturally developed during the chemical reaction with sodium hydroxide.
Soaps made with “cold Saponification” are naturally rich in glycerine, which is naturally produced during the saponification process. Furthermore, in addition to triglycerides of fatty acids, vegetable oils and butters contain an unsaponifiable matter, i.e. compounds that do not react with soda. For example: phytosterols, tocopherols (vitamin E), carotenoids (vitamin A), which have lenitive, protective, softening and anti-oxidant properties for the skin. A hand made soap, created in this way, will naturally contain a portion of unsaponifiable matter which confers unique features to all our soaps. Soaps are left to rest for at least a month to respect the natural aging times, before being packaged. Molds used are made of wood and are reused at every saponification. Soaps are cut manually, so the weight varies from 100 to 120 grams (size is not standard) They are wrapped in white vegetable paper mainly used for food and, therefore, completely biodegradable.
